The 2026 World Cup: A Fresh Start for Football

As a player in a smaller league, I’m pumped about the 2026 World Cup. With the tournament being hosted across the US, Canada, and Mexico, it’s going to be massive. But beyond the scale, this could be a real turning point for global football.

The game is changing fast. Younger, more dynamic players are breaking through, and teams that used to be underdogs—like the US, Mexico, and even nations like Morocco—are catching up to the traditional powerhouses. This World Cup will be a test to see if the big teams can keep up or if new, smaller nations will surprise everyone.

For players in smaller leagues, this is inspiring. We’re seeing more countries improve their training, coaching, and development, and it shows that anything is possible. If teams from outside the top tier can make a run, it might prove that football’s future is more open than we thought.

As for England, the pressure is on to finally deliver on the big stage. But overall, the 2026 World Cup feels like a fresh start—more surprises, new stars, and a clearer picture of where the game is heading globally. I can’t wait to see what happens.

How do you view the 2026 World Cup?"

For me, the 2026 World Cup is going to be a proper shake-up. With it being spread across the US, Canada, and Mexico, the scale alone is massive, and I think we’ll see the gap close even more between the traditional football nations and the ones that usually sit in the background.

Tactically, the game’s moving fast - loads of young players are breaking through, and I expect that tournament to show who’s actually adapting and who’s still living off reputation. It’s also a chance for England to prove they can deliver on the big stage instead of falling short at the final hurdle.

Overall, I see it as a turning point - new stars, maybe a surprise run from a so-called ‘smaller’ country, and a proper test of where the sport is heading.
