For me, the 2026 World Cup is going to be a proper shake-up. With it being spread across the US, Canada, and Mexico, the scale alone is massive, and I think we’ll see the gap close even more between the traditional football nations and the ones that usually sit in the background.
Tactically, the game’s moving fast - loads of young players are breaking through, and I expect that tournament to show who’s actually adapting and who’s still living off reputation. It’s also a chance for England to prove they can deliver on the big stage instead of falling short at the final hurdle.
Overall, I see it as a turning point - new stars, maybe a surprise run from a so-called ‘smaller’ country, and a proper test of where the sport is heading.
